Should you tell me how I should feel? How can I describe something truly personal?
Takeaways:
1. Truth is often more disappointing than reality.
2. One should never feel guilty for one's instinct. Only it's rejection does make feel so.
3. Society is built on conformity and any nonconformist will be punished for threatening it just for being authentic.
4. Life makes no sense. Therefore, one should not concern what is not one's area of concern.
5. Narratives should not change events. No matter how one frames events or any truth, the truth itself cannot be corrupted. So, only one's experience with the truth matters.
6. Emotions can't be forced on someone but they can be manipulated. By being real to oneself, one can ignore such emotional manipulations.
7. Meursault was the name of 'the stranger' and I believe the name didn't matter him any more than the very sentences I wrote from his story.
Opinion:
A solid book to make any sane person's head dizzy and insane person say, "I think I like this guy." The books well establishes that a truthful person is always peculiar because he doesn't play the games of life. And he may also get judged for that. The book will rightfully make you question and also emulate answers in your head what it feels like to be 'the stranger'.
