The Banker(2020)- Movie Review


If your vision is your mission, then your business is a movement. This pretty much summarizes the whole movie.

Takeaways:

1. Anyone can climb the social ladder but some social constructions hold back some people.

2. Morality is not legality. Just because some people think something is right or wrong, doesn't make that thing legal or illegal.

3. Life is not a race, it's a playground. You cooperate with those who have common goals to outmaneuver those who reject them.

4. Hard work pays off. There is no shortcut in building personality and character-it is a life long accumulation.

5. Good relationships support you in your potential endeavor whereas bad ones try to take advantage of you.

6. Fake it till you make it- is a shallow but mostly pragmatic rule. But for long term planning, authenticity is the real deal.

Opinion:

Good movie but mostly a dopamine rush. Has good character build up but less pitfalls faced by them, until the very end. As a historical biopic it js somewhat polished therefore, less hiccups in every turn. One month training to be a amature golfer and financial analyst is unreal but gets the story going.

Closing:

Enjoyable. Little less preachy compared to movies with similar casting and theme.

কুষ্টিয়া, গাঁজা ও মহাজন

কুষ্টিয়া কেন গাঁজার জন্য বিখ্যাত সেটা যতটুকু না বোধগম্য তার চেয়ে বেশি দৃশ্যমান হলো বিখ্যাত কিছু লোকজন (সাধু-সন্ন্যাসী, কবি) কেন এখান থেকে বের হয়েছিল। কুষ্টিয়ায়  মারাত্মক শীত পরে এর কোনো সন্দেহ নাই। এবার নিজেকে এক শতক আগে কুষ্টিয়ার একজন বাসিন্দা হিসেবে কল্পনা করুন। হার-কাঁপানো এই ঠান্ডায় আপনার নিজের দেহ ও মন গরম রাখার উত্তম এবং অতি প্রাকৃতিক উপায় হলো গঞ্জিকা সেবন, যা এখানে প্রতুল। এখন, গাঁজা হলো এক বিশেষ পার্শ্ব প্রতিক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন অতি উপাদেয় অখাদ্য। এর শারীরিক উপকার-অপকার আমার আলোচ্য নয়; কেননা এ বিষয়ে যারা জানে না, তারা জানার ভান করে আর যে জানে, সে না জানার ভান করে। তাই আসি মানসিক অঞ্চলে। গাঁজার মানসিক যেই পার্শ্ব প্রতিক্রিয়া থাকে সেটি সৃজনশীলভাবে বিধ্বংসী। মানে এটি আপনাকে নতুন নতুনভাবে নিজেকে বিলিয়ে দেওয়ার উপায় বাতলে দিবে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ আমি লালন শাহকেই টেনে আনি( যদিও লোকটি মৃত, তার মুরিদরা এখন জীবিতদের থেকে তাকে বেশি সমীহ করে)। কনকনে শীতে শরীর গরম রাখতে গিয়ে উনি না হয় নিছক দুই এক দফা গাঁজা খেয়ে নিলেন। শরীর গরম হলো, বেশ, পয়সা উসুল। কিন্তু এর পার্শ্ব প্রতিক্রিয়া উসুল হয় যখন উন...
