"past is past, keep your eye on the future."- is a common ground for many hard workers. I say hard workers because mostly they are the ones pushing this message of managing time all the time, preparing for what to come all the time. If something is so natural and benefitial, does it need to be reminded every other moment? The past has passed, but we need to learn from the past. We see ourselves in the past more than in the future; or to be precise, we imagine our future in the reflections of our past. The days to come, experiences to happen are all moulded in the past only to be filled by the future.
