A Longing for Greatness in All of Us

“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.” ― G.K. Chesterton The life we leave behind may seem just a passing of time. "past is past, keep your eye on the future."- is a common ground for many hard workers. I say hard workers because mostly they are the ones pushing this message of managing time all the time, preparing for what to come all the time. If something is so natural and benefitial, does it need to be reminded every other moment? The past has passed, but we need to learn from the past. We see ourselves in the past more than in the future; or to be precise, we imagine our future in the reflections of our past. The days to come, experiences to happen are all moulded in the past only to be filled by the future. So, we look past our life and peek at the lives of some of the greatest historical figures or the times they lived. Who wouldn't like the glorious days of chivalry, adventures and excitemen...

Unit One

I originally wrote this during my visit to Noakhali. Some discoveries I made there. "A man has a dam deep down in his mind holding back hundreds of thousands of emotions, each thumping ever larger the streams of tear. He just doesn't collapse with the dam, that's it." Edited Sep 7, 2022
